If you are a Physician Assistant
skip down to “Welcome All PA’s” for a message.

The RRPAA represents PA’s in the greater Rochester region of upstate New York. We are a non-profit organization under IRS Code 501 © 3. Our purpose is to assist members by sponsoring Continuing Medical Education opportunities, provide members with information on local, state, and national issues that affect Physician Assistant’s practicing in the our geographic area of the country as well as promote healthcare and education in the Rochester community.

Welcome All PA’s
This web site is designed with you in mind. We have tried to provide as many links to relevant sites as possible. Also, this is one the best resources in the Rochester area for job openings for Physician Assistants. If you are not a member I would encourage you to join since members can see job postings on our site before the general public.

I am in my third term as the RRPAA president and am proud to serve our organization and profession.  In the past year we had some financial setbacks. Like many organizations, we trimmed some spending and modified some plans but continue to provide the membership with good, affordable CME.  Although we did not provide RIT scholarships this year, I will work diligently with the Board so the funds will be available to provide these next year.

We have plans for our annual CME day on Friday, March 26, 2010.    The Board is excited to be holding the event at Midvale Country Club this year.  Plans are for six hours of Category I CME and a great day of camaraderie.  Mark your calendars and start making plans to attend.

RRPAA has evolved over the last 20 years.  The early days of Larry and Randy Larussa holding CME meetings. The clandestine meetings of the group trying to battle the local health insurers.  The eventual formation of RRPAA. Full day CME events. Scholarships for RIT students.  Donations to needy local families.  How we have grown!

Dave Jackson continues to be our webmaster.  He has made our web easy and up to date. All our routine membership activities can now be handled electronically and members can access their own account to update information. The RRPAA web site rivals many large state organizations.

Where do we go from here?
I am also committed to getting a newsletter to you a few times in the upcoming year and will soon open up a discussion with board members as well as the general membership about the direction of our organization and how we can better serve our membership. There are many active members of RRPAA however, there are many local PAs not involved. I want every PA to be proud, step up, and support your local organization.

What can you do?

Attend our events, stay a member, and if you really want to be a part of “Rochester PA History”, then get on our board. We currently have a great group on our board. Meetings seem more like a group of friends having fun than a board working on a project. You can tap on my e-mail anytime and send me a note. I look forward to hearing from any member regarding our organization.

I am pleased to be your President.  Please contact me with any issues I can assist with.

The best to you all,

Lawrence P. Di Risio, RPAC
